Smokefree social housing toolkit: A guide for the design and implementation of smokefree policies in social housing

This Toolkit has been developed as a resource to assist social housing providers to design and implement smokefree rules in social housing settings. The Toolkit draws on recent findings from the evaluation of the Christchurch City Council’s smokefree social housing project1 and from other studies conducted overseas.2-6 In the Toolkit you will find information and templates to assist you to engage with your staff, partner organisations, and with your tenants, as you move towards the goal of becoming smokefree. The successful introduction of smokefree social housing policies requires commitment — and with commitment, full smokefree status is achievable! Existing research and experience provides ample justification for action!
